udi popularity is on the rise and this statement can really backed up by the impressive sales figures just released for the first quarter of 2011. The worldwide Audi sales increased by 18.1 percent in Q1 2011 comparative to Q1 2010, which resulted in the sales of 374,000 vehicles in Q1 2011 vs 316,000 vehicles in Q1 2010. This translated to €1.1 billion ($1.63 billion) operating quarter versus only €478 million ($708 million) in Q1 of last year. This is very impressive considering that Audi was able to match main VW brand profits! The highest sales growth rates were recorded for Q5 and Q7, but A1, A7 and A8 demand is also very encouraging.

I would not be surprised that with its new 2011 design for its models, Audi is able to surpass VW profits in as early as next quarter this year. We shall wait and see….
